On our first day in Thailand we headed for the local beach. Here is my 2-year old niece, totally absorbed in playing in the sand. The cuteness factor must have gone to my head, because I let the camera slip out of my hand and....good-bye old friend! A few grains of extra-fine Thai sand got stuck inside as the lens was closing and it was all over! Next day, Mac opened it up and tried valiantly to fix it for me, but to no avail. Hence, this picture - and all the rest on this trip - was taken on my iPhone. Time to start saving up for a new camera...
Losing your camera on a trip is just the pits. But good thing you had a back up. I hope you can save your money quickly for a new camera. Your niece is indeed impossibly cute.
Some people are doing their entire 365 with their iPhones. It takes a really good photo and also has some great editing software so you can probably put off replacing your camera for awhile!
