This was the photo I submitted for the NYT Moment In May project today. The moment in question was 4 pm here in England. Mum and Dad had spent the day with us on the way back from their holiday. We had a lovely day, eating, walking the dogs and talking...and of course, drinking lots of cups of tea. At 4pm they were getting ready to leave for the drive home and there was just time to squeeze in one last cup of tea "for the road". I grabbed my cellphone, because my camera battery was on charge, and snapped this view of teapot, milk jug and random collection of mugs.
I know this is not the most exciting image in the world, but quite fitting really, because a "proper cup of tea" is very dear to British people everywhere, and really does make the world go round. I always have to stuff every spare corner of my suitcase with PG tips tea bags when I go to visit my brother in Thailand!
Wonderful. I'm a huge tea fan and a whole collection of tea pots now. I use one everyday to brew my morning delight. smile. Love the composition of your shot. Great capture!
