This evening Will had his first cricket match of the season. Ominous grey clouds lowered over the pitch in a menacing fashion, but there was no rain to stop play. They didn't win but put up a good fight. By the end my feet were frozen; had to thaw them out before going to play badminton.
Wonderful and timely picture for me. I was just asking my students if anyone knows anything about cricket and if the bat is bigger...and here is your picture. I think it is... We are reading The Great Gatsby...!
Thank you, Helen, for a wonderful picture of Cricket - which I am struggling to learn about. We watched a game recently and decided that it must be the most dangerous of game sports. I am sorry you are still having cold. It is warm where I am and I am so very grateful for it.
Would you believe I recognised immediately they were playing cricket even from the tiny thumbnail- not much of that goes on around here and I have lots of memories of watching the Blackcaps play during long hot summers as a teenager in NZ. Glad it didnt rain :)
...it didn't rain, but it was cold by the end. Brr!!! Looking forward to proper cricket weather so we can sit in the sun with a picnic and a cold beer!
