I have two boys, so skipping through the daisies and pretty pink summer dresses have never featured very strongly in my experience of motherhood. I used to love shopping for pink dresses for my nieces, but now they are all grown up! So it is always a treat when my friends with daughters are around to offset the slugs-and-snails-and-puppy-dog-tails world I inhabit! This morning Will was playing in a cricket tournament in the beautiful grounds of Churchill College, and while we were watching in the sunshine (for almost 5 hours!), the little sisters played with a skipping rope.
This is just the sweetest photo and I know what you mean about living in a different "world" when you have boys. I also have 2 sons...now both married and 1 has a son...so far no need for me to be biuyign much of anything pink...but I do have to say that looking back, being that I was divorced when my boys were 7 and 9, I think it was cheaper raising boys than it would have raising girls, so I am thankful things worked out as they did ;-)
Ahh, very cute! Funnily enough we've just got back from town, we went on search for a bikini but returned with a dress, not pink, infact blue denim...I remember you saying how nice it was to buy little girls outfits, there were some really cute ones! I don't know if I go with the 'sugar and spice and all things nice' a slight exaggeration perhaps!!
