After arriving home from holiday last night the first job this morning was to pick the dogs up from kennels. They stayed with friends most of the time and were only in kennels 3 nights but they were as excited as if we'd been away for a year (but then, they act the same way when I've been out to the shop for half an hour, so it's hard to tell what exactly the Canine Concept of Time really is!). I took them for a long walk on the Gog Magog hills (hills, only in the Cambridgeshire sense of the word, with their highest point at 246 ft above sea level!) It was a lovely sunny morning and one patch of wild flowers was covered with little blue butterflies; if I'd been quick enough on the draw, I'd have caught the cloud of them fluttering up as the dogs blundered through, but instead I was able to catch this little chap who considerately stayed behind - he did fly away but maybe the damage on his wing was slowing him down. I think he deserves a more glamorous name than Common Blue.
What a magnificent capture!
