The boys have had friends in and out of the house all day today, busy building tree houses, having BB gun fights, playing on the Xbox and other boy stuff. This evening we had a camp fire at the fields. They collected wood and whittled sticks with knives and made burning brands. Three of them will be camping down there in the old caravan they have for a den. There are some things that are even more fun than an Xbox!
Now this is what kids should be doing rather than being online all the time! How cool that they your boys and their friends have the great outdoors to explore and enjoy!!!
It delightes me to read about young people getting out and enjoying the company of one another, fresh air and "old fashioned" play. Our "good ol days" really were good, and it's nice to see kids indulging in it! (What a fun summer evening to be spent around a campfire as pretty as this!)
Your boys seem to have lots of outdoor experiences and it's wonderful! My husband was a Boy Scout and he still has impressive outdoor "skills". I never worry when we camp or hike! He can always start a fire. He's a very good "archer"--he even taught me! And he can always be counted on to tie knots! :-) Bravo for sending those boys outdoors!
