Yet another day of unremitting drizzle. Even the hens - who are of stoic and chirpy disposition and not generally given to moping - were mooching around their run with a definite look of grim resignation this morning. A bowl of scraps helped relieve the gloom a little, but even last night's sweetcorn cobs weren't enough to stop the rain making feathers frizz and wattles droop.
If this picture had a soundtrack, it would be The Carpenters, Rainy Days and Mondays ....it's been stuck in my head ever since I saw this glum expression. I even had to play it this afternoon while we were doing jigsaw puzzles (a perfect rainy day activity!) to try to dislodge it from my brain. It hasn't worked. I do love this song, but it's time to move on!
....Hanging around, nothing to do but frown,
rainy days and Mondays always get me down...
But it's Not Monday, it would have to be Rainy Days and Thursdays always get me down!!! She does look a little fed up, frizzy feathers that's what it is!
Beautiful shot of her Helen. Thanks for the welcome back and I think we're all a bit fed up of the weather at the moment. It is meant to be brightening up over the weekend so fingers crossed :)
Now you have us all humming "Rainy Days & Mondays" in our heads.... hahaa. Your photo of the hen is wonderful....you can definitely see the 'drab day' expression on her face!
