Maize Maze -You're Doing It Wrong

I took the boys to the maize maze near Cambridge today. We made a policy decision to turn right at every choice point and this seemed to be working well. We had ticked off 4 of the 10 checkpoints in the first ten minutes. Then things started to go awry. For a start, I dropped the pencil we were using to record answers to puzzles on the checkpoints. Then it turned out we hadn't read the instructions properly and we'd not done half the answers or followed the colour-coded secret mission routes (this was my fault, naturally!). There was some insubordination in the ranks, followed by a heated philosophical debate. One of our number questioned the underlying meaningfulness of the Maze Concept per se (What's the point?), while others were opposed to this Nihilist Analysis and felt that the Maze should be viewed more as a journey than a destination. Following a period of intense negotiation we agreed on a Strategic Minor Cheat that allowed us to skip several of the check-points and find our way out.
Sounds as if a career in the diplomatic service might be on the cards! Great picture.

LOL... We had a similar Maize Maze experience a couple of years ago... it was a relief to just finally find the parking lot again!

Insubordination and philosophical debate seem to have been the order of the day! What followed was a delightful read of the chaotic tangle! You go on such delightful adventures with your boys, I hope they'll save all this in their memory banks as you've saved this year in pictures! I've loved following you, and thank you immensely for your kind words about my Lunenburg summer!

My daughter walked the maze at Milton Keynes next to the Peace Pagoda whilst I was using my camera. I couldnt get a shot of the actual maze from my angle because it isnt thick enough and I was too tired to walk over as there were hills in the way. I love your photo with the beautiful sky and clouds and it really tells a story :)

Ohhh fantastic! We went to Maize maze at Lakeland, Cumbria!

It was HUGE , it was wet and muddy but we had a ball! They gave us a map in a sealed envelope and said you get your money back if you DONT use the map! Oh my word, We would still be in the maze now if we hadn't used the map! haha
Fantastic family fun day out though :o)

This would frustrate me to no end. I tried a corm maze once and almost ended up chewing my way out. Nothing better than feeling like a trapped animal--whoo! Hopefully, you guys had some fun!
