Ironing Therapy by helenmoss

Ironing Therapy

You can tell the writing is going slowly on the days when doing the ironing comes as a bit of light relief! I know it's wierd but I quite like ironing - not that you'd know it from the Everest size ironing pile that lurks next to my airing cupboard. This evening I tackled the North Face. This is the picture that hangs on the wall next to the ironing board It's made up of captions from 1950s magazines.
Some of those mags are like a time capsule. There were some left in my house that date from before the war. They are amazing.

This is super cool! (I love washing dishes, so I can relate to your ironing therapy!)

Amy and Helen, can you come to my house? I'll have plenty of dishes and ironing for you to do. I don't mind either, but the dishes get pushed aside because I know that they HAVE to be done. The ironing I only do if we're going somewhere where it matters. In the summer here, the wrinkles (and creases) sweat out anyway.

Lovely picture. I would love to have a room for the laundry related chores, then I could leave the ironing board set up and fold as they come out of the dryer.

Love the pic Helen. Its the same shape as the dress making patterns for that day too. I remember my Mum and her patterns when I was growing up. She seemed to stick to the same style over the decades :)

I agree with you, ironing really isn't that bad, especially if you put the tv on while you do it. It can be quite therapeutic.

You can iron for me any time! I hate ironing. When my writing goes slow, I'm on here more than I should be...like now. Taking a break while my characters figure out what to do next in my head.
