My friend Shiona is the queen of wreaths. Every Christmas she makes masses of them and sells them as a fund-raiser for the village school. This year she had the brilliant idea of a do-it-yourself wreath and lunch party. We all had a lovely time in her garden making our wreaths from the foliage she had pre-cut for us, while discussing a range of weighty issues of geopolitical and cultural significance (no, alright, that part's a lie. We mostly talked about perennial old chestnuts like why won't kids wear coats even when it's Minus Ten outside - I'm sure there must have been Stone Age Mums discussing that one one over the cave wall!)
And now my wreath is hanging on the front door.
I laughed at your description of kids not wearing coats! I'm surprised that my son has any ears left, as he never wore hats. He did wear a coat, but left it undone! Love your wreath - fresh ones are so much better than fake!
Your wreath is lovely! And I so agree about kids not wearing coats. I remember my kids putting their coats on, after my badgering them, but then they wouldn't zip them up. Crazy!!! I guess you're right - that's a universal problem - doesn't matter where in the world - as long as it's cold enough to need a coat. haha
Years ago while living in Germany a ladies group invited several of us Canadians to participate in wreath making (and brandy sipping and chocolate eating). It is one of my favorite memories and I still have the crocheted angels I received in the Christmas gift exchange that night too. Thanks!
