To Have And To Hold by helenmoss

To Have And To Hold

Maybe it is just the poster on the railing that is influencing me but I can't help seeing this as a romantic tryst between these two bikes, their wheels touching in a shy embrace.

I think I need to get out more!

Actually I did get out today. I took Ed to volunteer in a vision experiment on colour blind boys, but found out that what we thought was an interesting tritan defect (diagnosed by the optician) actually just amounts to being a bit 'poor' at colours generally. We did a lot of fun tests, but he just didn't do badly enough on any of them! We were summarily dismissed. Ed now complains of feeling less 'special' as he doesn't have a named defect, but is only a bit rubbish at telling lavender from mauve.

I also unleashed my previously undiscovered powers of telepathy to sell one of my books today. I was browsing in the children's dept of Waterstones when I saw a man nearing the book shelf where The Mystery of the Whistling Caves was displayed. He was probably homing in on the Michael Morpurgo section next door, but I willed him to pick up 'caves' - and he did! I then spoiled it by leaping out and telling him I was the author. Not cool. He took it well though, and even made me feel better by saying he was in publishing and he didn't think it deranged for authors to lurk behind the shelves practising mind control. And he bought the book! Moo ha ha!
It's all bikes tonight ..I have just been out on mine for a ride & might post some photos tomorrow ! this is a great shot ..not often you see colours like this!! I like the posters too especially 'To have & to Hold '' !!!

LOL!! I love that you're pouncing on people - I'm bad enough when they aren't my books - just can't resist pointing out to the cashiers that I know the authors and aren't they fabulous (and in Rebecca's case rearranging the shelving - yours were already prominent!) The trouble is it's a trait of my mother's that I found totally humiliating and now here I am with bookshop Tourette's... These two bikes are definitely 'in a relationship'.

What a fun surprise for the book buyer, Helen! And you're right, these two bikes do have something going on......

Lovely shot! I think it's cool that you introduced yourself to that buyer! Did you offer to autograph his copy?

Ahh they're kissing, they do look very loved up these two! Now as for pouncing on potential book purchasers, once is acceptable, understandable even, ( I took the first 2 books round to my neighbours for her grand daughters to read and happened to mention that my sister wrote them ) but no more I think!

I think I'll have to buy your book Helen! Not one, but three, little stories in your caption and I enjoyed them all!
