I cycled into Cambridge to buy some birthday presents. My lovely new bike (my birthday present in June) looked rather handsome locked to the railings in this pretty alley, where the Autumn sun was shining through leaves tinged with the very first hint of gold, so I took this picture. When I returned two hours later my bike had disappeared. If i hadn't had the photo on my phone I might have thought I'd just forgotten where I'd left it. And while some dastardly villain had been making off with my bike I'd been super-honest and pointed out to the cashier in the shop I'd just visited that she'd undercharged me by £30. So, now I have no bike, but at least I have the moral highground.
