Through the window

I was early (-ish :-) in town today. I shot mostly with a film camera loaded with Ilford HP5 black and white film! Now I have to brush up on my film developing skills. I haven't shot and developed b&w film since 1977 !!!!

I did take a few shots with my compact camera as well... like this one
Lovely scene. it sounds as though you are having fun!

Beautiful capture and scene, looks like great weather too.

@ludwigsdiana Unfortunately the weather is quite psychotic atm :-) 7 to 10C and varying throughout the day between sunshine, pouring rain and bursts of hail!

I love this type of images. There is a story and it’s up to the viewer to decide 😊

Cool that you are shooting film. I hope you post some of the resulting images. I too sometimes enjoy shooting film and usually have a roll on the go, often Ilford HP5 or XP2 because they are readily available. Currently I have a roll of Kodak Portra 400 loaded. Good for you developing it yourself. I used to have a dedicated darkroom back in the day but I don’t think I could deal with the chemicals anymore. I let the lab develop the film then scan the negatives at home.

I love your image - it really poses questions about what you are seeing. So interesting to hear about your b&w images you're going to develop.

@cdcook48 Thanks Chris. I have to practice threading the film into the development spool... it has been too long so the muscle memory is gone :-) If I manage to develop something I will scan and post. Have you checked out cafenol? Seems you can develop film with instant coffee, washing powder and vitamin C! :-)

@helstor365 HaHa! Coffee, who knew? That means I can drink it after developing my film for my morning caffeine fix and it has the added bonus of containing vitamin C. Maybe I’ll just stick to letting the lab do it. Seriously though, once you have developed your film there is an excellent plugin for Lightroom called Negative Lab Pro that makes it easy to convert your scanned negatives into positive. You may have heard of it but if you haven’t, check it out. They have a trial period so you can try before you buy. I swear by it.
