We have been told that the desk in this photo is a piece of Stickley furniture from the early 1900s. My parents got it second-hand when they were married in 1938. Dad kept all the bills in the right hand drawer, so as children my siblings and I referred to the desk as the "Bill Drawer". The gas lamp on the desk was from Gail's Great-Grandparents house and was used for interior lighting before the house was electrified. the two pictures on the wall are our Mothers. Gail's Mom is the b&w from the 1940s, the colour photo is my Mom about 2 years old
Retired educator - taught mathematics in high school, went back to graduate school, worked in research labs, and finally went back and taught computer science...

Wow, that's awesome! They say (on antique roadshow), that if you know the story, the antique is more valuable. I can see why. :-) Nice stories and some great family history there
