East Vineland Fire Station by hjbenson

East Vineland Fire Station

Last year the Richland section of Buena Vista Township built a new fire station (see http://365project.org/hjbenson/365/2011-01-26 ). This year the East Vineland section of the Township is building one. It seems that the fire trucks have gotten bigger and they can't fit in stations built in the first half of the 20th Century.
Great collage

Very nice collage showing the building project. Where I live the fire station is volunteer. I hope they get here in time if I ever need them. The coral I found is 7in X 6in. and about 4in thick. I will edit and put that in.

That explains a lot! I never thought about the size of the trucks. Always fun to see the before and after.

@new2this Thank you Ann, In the old firehouse, they had to keep one truck and one ambulance out back
@bruni Thank you Bruni, I know this new firehouse will cost over $1,500,000 to build.

neat collage.....too bad the "old" fire stations are too small -- I like the feel of the older building

@cscecil Thank you Carolyn, I agree with you the old buildings had much more character

I'm curious as to what the finished product will look like

Shame about the older buildings. We are volunteer run here too, they had a nightmare finding us when we had a chimney fire, luckily it was mostly out by the time they got here!
