Lake Lenape and Factory by hjbenson

Lake Lenape and Factory

Went to Lake Lenape County Park today. It is over 2,000 acres (810 ha) not counting the lake. The lake is used by area high schools for their sculling practice and races. - some of them have even competing in England. This photo was going to of the birds on the buoy, but they started to leave, The factory in the background was originally a cotton mill from the 1800s to 1949. In 1950, Wheaton Plastics reopened it to close it agin in the early 2000s. It was bought by a developer, over the objection of some towns people, to remake into condos. But a fire of mysterious origin in 2007 has put a temporary halt on that project, but last fall (2011) they said they were going on with the plans. Best Viewed Large.

Love the capture of the birds in the foreground, and I always love your knowledgable captions on the locations you shoot:)

Funny why people would object to a condo being built there. It sure would look better and people living there would have a splendid view of the lake.
