@crappysailor Mmmhmm... my friend was borrowing my 12-24mm Tokina for a few months (I had his Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8 in exchange), so I've been playing with it a lot. Before that, I didn't have it for over a year, so I've been deprived of wide angle. I originally got the lens for shooting car interiors, but I'm finding other uses for it.
This photo is cropped, too... there was a lot more to the right side of the frame, but the neighbor's house was peeking over the fence, and that bothered me. :)
@crappysailor All my lenses are Nikkor except this Tokina. I just couldn't afford the Nikkor version. The lens has preformed quite well in the little I've done with it. I shot some interiors of cars for magazine features, and they came out nice and sharp. It focuses pretty darn close, too. I don't have any experience with other brands of wide angles, so I can't really compare, but I haven't found anything to really dislike. It does vignette a bit, but I'm not sure if that's just a wide angle characteristic or not. It would be nice if it was faster than f4, but once again, that is a cost restriction.
Interesting angle. I'm glad other people get on their knees, too! And that just happens to be my second favorite lens (I can't afford the Nikon version either) right behind the 50mm f/1.8.
