Chess anyone?

My husband bought me this chess set when he passed through Kyrgyzstan in 2003 because it reminded him of the Russian nesting dolls I collect. Nov. word for today is game.

@mittens That's what they are modeled after. You can find nesting dolls and lacquered boxes all throughout the former Soviet republics, which is why he found this one in Kyrgyzstan.
