We officially have a mountain of snow!

Late last night while my husband was clearing the driveway, the boys made a sledding track, complete with two curves, down the snow pile in our front yard. It starts up on top by my older son, curves and comes down the hills toward the left, then curves again at the bottom before they drop off the snow pile onto the road.
My youngest son coming down the hill is 5 feet tall, just to give you a reference point!
So the winter Olympics just goit a bit closer then? Love it!

@steampowered Yes, we now have track "luge" track in the yard! LOL! We definitely win the gold for biggest snow pile. It's easily 10 feet high now from the road, all courtesy of the snow plow.

What fun!

@lynnilou They were having a blast. Nothing says fun to an 11 and 13-year-old boy better than this!
February 19th, 2014
Wow lucky!! Wish we had a snow hill like this.

Thinking along the same lines as Paul, the lads won't have to go far to train for the next Olympics, they will be experts in that new event " digging out the mail box"

My kids would LOVE this!!

Looks great fun, 'make fun while the snow lies rather than hay while the sun shines!'
February 19th, 2014
@lucypics It's all snow, too, no ground under it...well, 8 feet under it.
@markp Yes, they win the gold in shoveling out the mailbox and sidewalks.
@kwind They love it. I hate it. Good thing we are only here a year.
@ceilidh Hahaha! That's a great saying. But, I'm more of a warm weather and sunshine kind of gal! LOL!

How fun!! My dad used to construct a saucer run for us that started in the corner edge of our backyard and ran all the around the side of the house and down to the edge of the front yard- where if it hadn't been for a hedge that stopped us, we could have easily shot right across the street into the neighbor's yard! We would ride that for hours! What a great thing for your boys to play on.

Jo
Oh my that's a lot of snow!
February 19th, 2014
@jo13 Haha! Yes, it is. I can't wait for it to melt, but it just seems to be growing and not melting at all.
February 19th, 2014
Wow! You could get lost in that! I guess that if you didn't keep on top of it the snow would come right up to the top of the windows on your house! Impressive capture!
February 19th, 2014
Wow! That looks like great fun
February 20th, 2014
haha... I was thinking the same thing... lets ski at home
February 20th, 2014
Wow - just incredible!
February 20th, 2014
Wow, look at all that snow. Great shot. Our snow is really melting here.
February 20th, 2014
Seriously impressive!!
February 20th, 2014
@sturnus This is from the snow plow clearing our cul de sac. It's still quite a distance from our front door, but it is getting hard to see over it.
@rachelwithey They are loving it, especially today when it was above freezing.
@lafish My 13-year-old's feet are almost big enough to be skis. He was sliding down the hill, thought it was fabulous!
@linnypinny Thanks!
@mittens Ours is growing.
February 20th, 2014
Wow, that will take a while to get rid of all that. Watch out for the run off
February 20th, 2014
Love it!! We might try this tomorrow if it isn't solid ice out there now!
February 20th, 2014
cool
February 20th, 2014
@digitalrn Thankfully, our house is slightly higher than the road, so it should fun into the street.
@luvmynynix It's supposed to warm up here this weekend. I hope some of it melts.
@twr Thanks!
February 20th, 2014
It's an ill wind that blows nobody good!
February 20th, 2014
@therubysusan It's finally warmed up today!
February 20th, 2014
@homeschoolmom It warmed up here. Now we have rain, fog seems to be rising (which is awful on the roads!) and I still can't take the camera out! Or, wait - maybe the fog means the rain has stopped for a bit! Must go check!
February 20th, 2014
It's hard here in the UK to imagine so much snow - it makes a spectacular shot!
February 20th, 2014
@quietpurplehaze Thanks! It's fun to look at the first day, but after 2 months it gets a little old! LOL! This is the firs time we've ever lived any where with snow on the ground all winter.
February 20th, 2014
that looks like great fun...........I so wish we got real deep snow like that!!
February 20th, 2014
@pixiemac It might look white and fluffy, but most of it has been frozen solid for months. The boys are enjoying it, even if they did have to hack their way through another snow pile so the gas company can get to our propane tank!
February 21st, 2014
Nice!
February 22nd, 2014
@bill_fe Thanks!
February 22nd, 2014
That looks so fun, although it also looks like there's the same amount of snow there as there is in Sochi ;-)
February 23rd, 2014
@allisonraposa LOL! Might be. This isn't a hill at all, it's all snow from the snow plow!
February 24th, 2014
Oh wow that's a lot of snow! I bet great fun was had by all.
