Late last night while my husband was clearing the driveway, the boys made a sledding track, complete with two curves, down the snow pile in our front yard. It starts up on top by my older son, curves and comes down the hills toward the left, then curves again at the bottom before they drop off the snow pile onto the road.
My youngest son coming down the hill is 5 feet tall, just to give you a reference point!
@steampowered Yes, we now have track "luge" track in the yard! LOL! We definitely win the gold for biggest snow pile. It's easily 10 feet high now from the road, all courtesy of the snow plow.
Thinking along the same lines as Paul, the lads won't have to go far to train for the next Olympics, they will be experts in that new event " digging out the mail box"
@lucypics It's all snow, too, no ground under it...well, 8 feet under it. @markp Yes, they win the gold in shoveling out the mailbox and sidewalks. @kwind They love it. I hate it. Good thing we are only here a year. @ceilidh Hahaha! That's a great saying. But, I'm more of a warm weather and sunshine kind of gal! LOL!
How fun!! My dad used to construct a saucer run for us that started in the corner edge of our backyard and ran all the around the side of the house and down to the edge of the front yard- where if it hadn't been for a hedge that stopped us, we could have easily shot right across the street into the neighbor's yard! We would ride that for hours! What a great thing for your boys to play on.
Wow! You could get lost in that! I guess that if you didn't keep on top of it the snow would come right up to the top of the windows on your house! Impressive capture!
@sturnus This is from the snow plow clearing our cul de sac. It's still quite a distance from our front door, but it is getting hard to see over it. @rachelwithey They are loving it, especially today when it was above freezing. @lafish My 13-year-old's feet are almost big enough to be skis. He was sliding down the hill, thought it was fabulous! @linnypinny Thanks! @mittens Ours is growing.
@digitalrn Thankfully, our house is slightly higher than the road, so it should fun into the street. @luvmynynix It's supposed to warm up here this weekend. I hope some of it melts. @twr Thanks!
@homeschoolmom It warmed up here. Now we have rain, fog seems to be rising (which is awful on the roads!) and I still can't take the camera out! Or, wait - maybe the fog means the rain has stopped for a bit! Must go check!
@quietpurplehaze Thanks! It's fun to look at the first day, but after 2 months it gets a little old! LOL! This is the firs time we've ever lived any where with snow on the ground all winter.
@pixiemac It might look white and fluffy, but most of it has been frozen solid for months. The boys are enjoying it, even if they did have to hack their way through another snow pile so the gas company can get to our propane tank!
@markp Yes, they win the gold in shoveling out the mailbox and sidewalks.
