When I went on my walk this morning, I took along a little bag to pick some wild blackberries. Thankfully, the blackberries were in the shade, so I stopped there to cool down. It was only 78, but with 97% humidity due to rain early this morning, it felt like 100 already. And it was only 9 a.m. YIKES!
Love the fingers to give it scale, and they are so rich and plump -- beautiful colors too! I love picking them...but not their taste, so others like going with me as they get a bigger share!
@jgpittenger Juicy yes....but kind of sour! LOL! Didn't matter, they still tasted good. @zosimasy These were rather burred in the brush, so they were protected some. In fact, I got myself tangled up in one sticky branch. The more I tried the pull away, the more it wrapped around me! LOL! Liked to never got it unhooked from my shirt! @randystreat Yes, they are very seedy. But, they are my favorite. I could eat my weight in them. I think I did as a kid. @taffy Thanks, they are my favorite berries. In fact, they are blackberry cobbler is the only fruit pie I will eat. @roachling@joansmor Thanks!
@olivetreeann Yum! Great combination, garlic and blackberries! Bet that was fun! @digitalrn They are definitely juicy......and tart! LOL! @paulaw Really? That seems late. I seem to remember picking blackberries most of the summer when I was a kid. Here, it's just terribly hot, has been since early spring, so our summers are very long and the winters are very mild.
