Comics in ashes

Sunday afternoon, our local comic book store, Michael's Marvels, burned down, taking with it the owner's home. They lost everything. Thankfully, they were not at home when the fire started because the owner is disabled and he has twin girls with severe disabilities. We didn't know this until last night when one of the Boy Scout leaders (who is a teacher's aid at the local public school for kids with special needs) told us about it. So sad to see all the burned comic books. So strange that the building just seems to have disappeared, like a tornado hit it or something. Michael's Marvels is one of the first places my hubby and boys visited when we moved here. We often ran into the owner and his wife at the movie theater when Marvel movies played.
@thresheg Thanks so much for the FAV!

An awful loss for the family

@carolmw Yes, it was. And I doubt that they had insurance to cover it either.

Oh no. How devastating.

What a devastating scene Lisa. Thank goodness the family were safe. I just hope they were fully insured. You've captured it brilliantly.

Oh my goodness, what an awful thing to happen. I'm so glad no one was hurt, though.

What a terrible loss, lucky no fatalities. Cool collage, you captured the destruction so well.

Oh no what a tragedy! I am glad the family is unharmed but will be keeping them in my thoughts because losing a home and a business altogether is such a great loss! You have captured their loss sensitively.
