Today, I took my son to meet with the people at the 5 and 2 Food Pantry about the possibility of doing his Eagle Scout project here. They need a roof over their loading deck, a driveway filled with rock and some steps replaced. Next step, he has to get project approval from his Troop and the Occoneechee Council. Then he has to plan the work, figure out the supplies that are needed, raise money and buy the supplies (or get them donated), organize work days, supervise the work, and then the fun begins. There is tons of paperwork involved to document the process.
I like that they really make the Scouts work hard to earn that Eagle Scout status. It makes it so much more meaningful. He's chosen such a great cause. I hope his troop approves it.
I'm sure he will get it done, and the food bank will really appreciate it.
Good on him.
