Hip hops

Made a quick stop by Blue Mountain Brewery as we passed through Afton, Virginia. They were very busy, so I just snapped a few photos of their hops growing along their outdoor eating area while my hubby got a few bottles of his favorite adult craft beverage.

Not sure I've ever seen hops before. Are these the flowers of this plant? Are they the part of the plant that is used in the brewing process?

@randystreat They look more like little berries, but they could be flowers. Not sure. Blue Mountain Brewery is the only place I've ever seen them growing.
