Tonight I had to take one of my sons to Camp Durant for an Order of the Arrow Fall Camp Out (other son decided to go hunting instead). It's a beautiful drive, about 40 minutes, through the country to get there. Camp Durant is on the Occoneechee Scout Reservation, just outside Carthage, NC, is a one of the nicest Boy Scout camps my boys have been to (and my older son has been to 4: one in MO that belonged to our council in IL, one in IN and another in NC).
On the way home, my first thought was, "Boy, there are a lot of pine trees here!" And, like a lightening bolt, it came to me just why my allergies are so bad here. There's a reason why we have an artificial Christmas tree. It's the attack of the loblollies, which is a very common pine tree in our area/
