Why Bradford Pears are bad by homeschoolmom

Why Bradford Pears are bad

My neighbor's Bradford pear tree didn't survive Hurricane Florence, even though she didn't hit us very hard. The branch on the right side was splitting, so they put a strap around it to hold it up, but the storm toppled the rest. These trees are gorgeous in the springtime, but not very sturdy and break easily in the wind.
Oh my do love Bradford’s but they never hold up to storms let alone a hurricane- glad you’re safe

such a shame. Great diptych to show the results though

the wind makes the bradfords split easily, hope you had minimal damage

That's very sad but one look at the shot on the left and I didn't think that strap would hold up. Good comparison.

Hurricane winds twist branches so much, at least it didn't become a projectile.

I've thought of you all day. Hope you are not too water logged!

Oh what a pity. I kind of thought that the strap was to thin to hold everything together. A great diptych, though!
