You can't go back! by homeschoolmom

You can't go back!

A friend told us once that you can't go back because nothing stays the same. This is definitely true. Well, we broke the rule and went back, but just for a quick visit. This was one of our favorite places to live, Fishers, Indiana, even though we only lived here 16 months. Things have changed a lot since we moved in July of 2013, most notable the bottom center picture of Dillon. This road meets our road between my neighbor's and my house, which made it easy to find our house. Down at the end where the construction vehicles are, the road used to dead end at the woods, where my boys and their friends liked to play. They have cleared all the trees and put in another road, which links up to 126th Street. Our street used to a long cul-de-sac with two small cul-de-sacs branching off it, so it was a great place for the kids to play. Not any more. Many of the neighbors aren't happy about this change. My husband also realized it left his work bench in the garage. "Did I mean to leave this here?" It's very heavy, so yes he meant to leave it there, but part of him wished he could put it in the back of his truck and take it with him (not that we have room for it). Good news is, my daisies are flourishing in the backyard. But the best news is that by early December, this will no longer be our house.
Lovely collage and story. I agree you can't go back, it just isn't there. Being a military wife for many many years (now retired) we only went back once and it prompted us to journey to Australia, so there was some good in going back just once.

It is always nice to reminisce but difficult to see the changes. This is a terrific collage of your used to be home

Sometimes I think it's good to remember things the way they were. I've not lived many places but the neighborhood that I grew up in has changed a lot and it's odd to go there and see what it's become. I'm sure that you're glad it will off your hands very soon.
