The big cathedral in Marseille took about 100 years to build. It's very beautiful. The entire floor is an entricate mosiac design that is gorgeous. Because they are a port city, the seafarers would come here to pray for safe journey. If they survived a bad incident at sea, they hung a replica of their boat in the cathedral as proof that God protected them on their journey.
