The first time I saw one of those in Vt. it was a little disconcerting- I mean shouldn't a truck's brakes be in tip-top condition before they leave on their trip!? haha But then I realized Mother Nature and snow plows are not always cooperative or on top of icy roads! Good shot.
@olivetreeann I have seen truck brakes smoke and I've seen them with flames coming out of them because they got so hot on the mountains. Some really steep areas have mandatory brake checks to make sure they aren't too hot.
I can't imagine getting to the point that you're traveling so fast and having the brakes fail so that one of these sandy ramps is the choice. What a sudden stop! But I guess it beats the alternatives.
