Take me home, country roads!

I don't know why, but every time we got home to my in-laws' house, the GPS takes us a different route. This time, it chose to take us through a state park in which the access roads in and out of it were basically "goat paths." Yes, this is single lane and the that guard rail sits right on a cliff. Luckily we didn't meet another car on this section of road or the switchbacks down the other side of the mountain. UGH! We are never going to learn the route this way. Not to mention, it made the cat very sick. Luckily, the weather was nice and there was no snow.

Hope you weren't trying to make time. Check your settings. Sometimes the "shortest" route isn't always the "fastest" route. Made for a great photo op, though.

Well, it's a lovely road- but definitely not the best route if it makes the cat sick!! I took the youth group to W. Va. once and encountered similar twists and turns. Three of the girls got sick in the rented van on the way home! I hear stories about GPS like this and think, "that is why I still use maps!!" Beautiful shot!

@skippysue He's better. It was a beautiful drive. Would not want to do it in the snow. Scary in good weather.

@randystreat It's an old GPS, no special settings like that. Time for a new one. I was trying to get their early. I had to make pies and get things ready for our big dinner the next day.
@olivetreeann We have tried to buy a map of this area, so we could pick the best route. No place sells maps any more. Frustrating.
@joansmor This road had a few scary moments, that's for sure! LOL!
