Just tried out the zoom. I needed a tripod because there's a lot of movement at that distance. @lubybee Thanks so much for the FAV! Another 365er told me how to do it. It's all about controlling the aperture or shutter. I used to use my shutter because that was easiest with my camera. Most cameras auto adjust for the night, not the light you are shooting. You have to use a fast shutter, not a slow one. For a full moon, I would got up to shutter speed of 1/1600 or 1/2000. For a sliver, it was much slower, maybe 1/200 or 1/60.
