How to make lemonade out of lemons: when your fridge freezes up and has to defrost for 24 hours, it's a good time to clean it out. I emptied everything except the fresh vegetables in the crispers, my husband's soda and the baking soda. The towels are to soak up the water as the coil defrosts. But, my refrigerator and freezer are clean and organized now. And, we didn't really loose much food, except some ground chicken and 3 jars of pickles that were on the top of the fridge, about a fourth of a gallon of milk that was on the upper door and some frozen bananas that turned to mush in the coolers.
@digitalrn Thankfully, we didn't have to buy a new fridge. It was just frozen up from condensation. I'd much rather pay $120 for a repair than $2,000+ for a new one.
