Survivors and Casualties

This toppled tree, while seeminly more protected by the church behind it, fell under Hurricane Florence's winds over the weekend. Yet, just 30 feet across the parking lot, out in the open, was a line of small magnolia trees with flowers on them. If you aren't familiar with magnolia flowers, they are quite large, but very delicate, and rarely last longer than 24 hours in the South's summer heat.
