The Holy Grail! by homeschoolmom

The Holy Grail!

After months of anticipation, North Carolina's first Cabelas store is open. We made the pilgrimage Friday night. Rather disappointing, as it was small and didn't have any of the great displays Cabelas is known for, only half of their iconic mountain display. So far, we have been to Cabelas in KS, MO, WV, PA, ME, CT and NC.
The fun place to shop for an afternoon

@digitalrn We can't resist these stores! LOL! I think this is our 8th Cabelas we have visited!

I've never been to a Cabela's store. We have a Bass Pro Shop and have a Field and Stream store opening soon

Too bad it wasn't what you expected, but I like your collage!

I've only been in one once and that was for a gift certificate. I tend to do LL Bean's.

@froggie0628 We like Cabelas best off all those stores. It usually has great displays, but this one looks more like the Field and Stream that opened a couple of months ago.
@tinapeterson Thanks!
@skippysue This store had tons of fishing stuff, more than usual. Even had a whole section of boats. It's a super store for all forms of outdoor recreation.
@joansmor I wouldn't even put Cabelas and LL Bean in the same category. LL Bean is high end sporty clothing. Cabelas is outdoor equipment and clothing. Lots of camping equipment, hunting gear and guns, fishing rods and boats,.... I like LL Bean, too. There is an awesome Cabelas in Scarborough, ME, relatively close to you. You should check it out some time. It's a fun store.

did you have an aquarium? That's my favorite part usually.

@homeschoolmom I really have no need for what they sell they don't sell camera's. At LL Bean I do sometimes buy clothing. But mostly I visit there to take guest who want to see it or to stretch my legs on a long coastal road trip.

@joansmor They have cameras! LOL! They sell all kinds of cool game cameras! LOL!
@francoise Only a very small one built into the base of the mountain (it's behind the alligator). It's not nearly as nice as the one in Wheeling, or as big.

We've been doing pilgrimages to the one in Greenville SC. For me, it's a nice interesting time to sit and knit and watch and maybe talk to others sitting in front of the fireplace. This is a nice collage.

Nice photo of this store (looks like what we have around here( but, it's called the "Bass Pro Shop")!

@randystreat Oh, we will have to make a trip to that one! Is it a big Cabelas?
@paulam We have one of those, too. We normally like Cabelas a little more than Bass Pro because it has more animal displays. But, the Bass Pro in Foxborough, MA, had a giant replica of a whale on it's ceiling. It was amazing.

@homeschoolmom It's a pretty good size, but I've not been to that many to compare. Which one did you go to?

@randystreat This is the brand new one in Garner, NC (just outside of Raleigh). Just opened last Thursday.
