This feels like it should be an ad for air freshener...but really I started out just photographing clouds. The empty sky was a bit dull, so crawled under my sunflower to shoot up. But in the final photos, the white overwhelmed the yellow, so I edited and edited and edited, trying to find a way to brighten up the flower without washing out the sky. This is the best of my several tries. So... even if it doesn't look like it, it is a real sunflower from the yard in front of real blue sky...just a little "touched up."
No longer middle aged, and no longer taking pictures every day....but cannot quit yet.

Middle, middle. Middle-aged, middle America. I just like taking...
Lovely blue sky against the yellow. I agree, it is really hard to keep the sky colour and the flower. I have struggled with this loads. What do you use for editing, because you've done a great job.
Though I did some drafts in PicMonkey, I'm only comfortable using the tools in iPhoto...particularly, tweaking the "Levels." I did add a little "Definition", which is local contrast, to give the petals a little more detail. What I miss is ability to change one color (e.g., yellow) without messing with the blue. I still have a lot to learn.
