The poor mother cardinal has been stuck on the nest through this heat wave. Her mouth is open all day...panting? We put out some water near her tree, but I haven't seen her go over to drink. Hard work, this "expecting."
No longer middle aged, and no longer taking pictures every day....but cannot quit yet.
