Dark Evening

From yesterday, dear companions on a dark evening sitting around reading...

On a technical note: These photos always look brighter when I'm editing, then darker when I upload. Any tips?

I like the low key on this shot. What program are you using for editing?
Does it just look darker when viewing on a phone or on the computer.
