Stone Head

This is the head of a sculpture in West Quay Shopping centre in Southampton. The piece, called, 'In The Swim' was commissioned for the centre from artist Jon Buck. You can see the full piece on his website - http://www.jonbucksculpture.com/ - under Commissions.

This was a lunchtime snap that's been processed in Silver Efex Pro 2.
Brilliant edit, I would never have know it was the one in West Quay! fave : )

Wow--great job. I don't know how you'd begin to shoot something like that. Love it.

@bluefirebucket I walk past it five days a week, and to my shame, this is the first time I've ever stopped and really looked at it properly. I'd never even seen the plaque with his name on. Having been to his site, I agree - he's done some fabulous work.

Love the artist's style - it has an ancient feel which I really like :)

I have been considering getting Silver Efex Pro 2 - what do you think of it?

Nice shot, by the way.

@aineo It's far & away the best/most enjoyable piece of editing software I've ever bought. For mono conversions, there's nothing better. My only moan about it is my version screws up my Lightroom keyword library, but I get around this by going into it via PS Elements rather from LR direct.
I'd recommend the you download the trial & have a play. If it's too pricey, then Topaz B+W Effects isn't bad either, but it just can't get that metallic effect the SFX can. :)
