When I saw @allisonrap's picture "Oops!"(http://365project.org/allisonrap/365/2012-05-07) a couple of days ago, it set me thinking about my nemesis, the water collision shot. It suddenly occurred to me that maybe I didn't need the drop to hit another drop to get the shot I wanted, just something a similar size.
This is a combination of milk, water, glycerine and white poster paint - combined in a totally random recipe - and dropped from a pipette onto a drawing pin head. The flash was triggered by a rather thrown-together laser trigger built by my OH (yes, he's awesome) from a laser pen & bits of the sound trigger.
I'm really quite chuffed with the result. :)
You are amazing, obviously you and OH should be scientists!! What an incredible shot....looks like guipure lace, i think you two are completely bonkers!! love it!!!
@mcdermgl Laser trigger is very cool! The laser pen shines a beam into a receiver across the top of the drawing pin & it fires the flash when the beam is broken by the falling drop. Makes timing much less of a guess. :)
Well you should be cuffed with this really fantastic catch. I don't do these sort of shots and all of that I see on here just amaze me to no end. Congrats on the PP with it too.
This is fantastic. See you on the popular page :)
........." No but I do suspect he's MacGyver some times."....if only we all had a MacGyver!!
