Walkies

Needed some dog therapy this evening so Little Hoo and I borrowed Lakrits again.
At work today I had a little meeting with my boss...next term I will also be teaching English to years 2, 3 and 4....I was in chock...didn't like the idea at all. It is NOT what I went to uni for..I did not want to to teach English at all....so this evening I had some doggy time...cleared my head...and am warming to the idea. It will mean more work for me with planning...lol...like I get all my planning now!
See one of my other albums for a quick idea I am thinking of doing. I do like new challenges but I think as I was not expecting this at all it came more of a chock and has taken me a few hours to get over that chock...lol
Also today they started ripping up the old floor in the hallway and stairway. We are getting some new floor tiles but what a mess and what a noise! We ate lunch outside today because of the noise...hahaha
Will see what the rest of the week brings. Oh, Sweden had their first match today...they won...wonder if they can keep that up!

Thought of the day:
Give yourself time to get used to new ideas before you disregard them totally. You may surprise yourself with how you feel about it really!
great thought for the day! I wonder what brilliant mind thought that up!

Love this PoV.
When you say teaching English - do you mean the language? It's probably a silly question, but over here, an English lesson isn't learning the language as such and, to my shame, I've never really thought about how it works elsewhere. Do you have Swedish lessons (i.e. a lesson where you learn about language conceptions like reading comprehension and branching into the study of literature)?

Anyway - teaching someone a new language is wonderful gift. I barely know any other languages, but it does give you an appreciation of your own language and how it works if nothing else. I wish we took learning other languages more seriously. I firmly believe it improves the way you think about things.

@humphreyhippo yup, learning the language, how to speak it, write it, listen to it, doing comprehension, and having fun with it. Swedish is comprehension, grammar, writing reports and different types of texts and all that. I think everyone should learn at least one other language and I think everyone should learn sign language too

@huvesaker It's actually really hard to get on a sign language course here. They're always full - because I tried a few years ago - which is odd, because I've never actually met anyone who can speak it. Is Swedish sign language different? I know American and British are different from each other.
I got quite good at Spanish a few years ago - about at the level where I could read the BBC News page in Spanish fairly easily. Sadly I've let it lapse and hardly remember any of it now. :(

@humphreyhippo yup the Swedish one is different, I did up to level three...think there are 5 levels...not sure though. I try and teach the little I know to my pupils. I was great at German a few years ago but like you I let it lapse...you need to keep languages living to be able to use them..not always the easiest thing to do though

You are going to be busy. As long as you have time for your wonderful art sessions I think you will do wonderfully. I think everyone should learn sign language. I used it with the students at the Special school where I worked. With your positive attitude I know you will do well.with the little ones.
