Inspired by Michaelangelo's sculpture of Mary carrying the dead body of her Son entitiled La Pieta - Italian for pity or compassion, this image is made of baticulin wood which is the common variety of Philippine timber used in carvings and woodwork.
This image has been enshrined in the Makati Sporting Association Chapel and included in the Good Friday Procession for 25 years now.
