257 - Surprisingly, despite the recent colder and grey weather, there are still a few roses in bloom in my garden. This bud survived the heavy rain of last night and this morning and is nicely opening in this afternoons sunshine.
This is really a surprise, since a month ago when I took a rose photo in my mums garden, mine were looking rather sad, and as if their season was over.
I'm not absolutely certain what variety it is, but I think it's a Queen Elizabeth. If so it was grown from a cutting quite a few years ago.
I sometimes think that roses are just old fashioned and boring these days, that is until I see one:) And this is beautifully pink and with the droplets is so sweet. Fabulous shot Ian!
Oh Ian what a beauty of a rose..love the water drops on them ..so fresh and beautiful to think it should be finished blooming at this time of the year..fav.
Thank you Kd, I love taking photos of roses, which are my favourite flower. What does amaze me is that this is only the 5th rose shot I've included in my project!
