Upon our return our pool was green....
I got it cleared up pretty quickly, but unfortunately due to too much Cyanuric Acid I had to pump a lot of the water out...
Hi @stephanies
Cyanuric acid is a stabilizer for chlorine in swimming pools exposed to sunlight, but when there is too much cyanuric acid the chlorine won't do it's work.
In the end we always got too much because the plaster was old and started to deteriorate. The only way to get the concentration of Cyanuric Acid to decrease is to dilute.
So the choice was spend a lot of money to update the pool and on top of that a lot of time and money to maintain it or spend quite a bit and get rid off it. For me it was an easy choice ;)
