Texas Time Machine

7th grade has been working on the 1800 in Texas history. As a learning enhancement the school invited actors from George Ranch. Parents were asked to help out taking a class from station to station. There were 6 stations and we had 30 minutes at each station. Due to the cold weather everything was placed inside. It worked well, except for the "game-station" as the gym floor was to slippery for the stilts and hoops. My favorite stations were music and cooking. This picture was cooking. The students had to shake a jar with heavy whipping cream to make butter and added all the ingredients to make cornbread. In the end they got a little piece of cornbread with their butter.
What a fun way to teach Texas history. Much more memorable this way.
