Milkweed - with Monarch caterpillar

Another milkweed picture! This time for rainbow green and with a Monarch caterpillar. I counted at least 8 caterpillars in different sizes and the little white dot just right from the middle on the bottom of this picture is an egg! Think I will run out of milkweed soon...
The Dallas Morning News had an article the other day that said 300 million Monarchs would be migrating through Texas this year on their annual migration from Mexico to Canada! I was astonished at that number. The article also said they love Milkweed! So, get ready! 😊 Love this photo!

He is a beauty but I guess 8 caterpillars could do a lot of damage to the leaves

@louannwarren Thank you for your comment Lou Ann! I googled the article - a 144% increase is unbelievable. The Monarch butterflies can eat anything, but the caterpillars can only eat milkweed. This morning there were even more caterpillars, and in about 3 days I just will have milkweed stalks, but it re-grows really fast.

@onewing Correct: in a few days I will only have milkweed stalks, but it re-grows quickly. The bad thing is that I found more caterpillars meaning that some will starve and I can do nothing about it :(
I guess that's nature. The strongest will turn into butterflies.
