I didn't invite you!
True, this Rose-ringed Parakeet didn't invite Yelena.
I was outside when I noticed something moving in the tree. Got my camera and had to look really well before I spotted a female. She really blended in. After a few pictures I called Yelena and then this male flew in a lot better visible. He obviously heard her and looked at her very disapprovingly. Then both, male and female flew off, but I had today's picture!
Gorgeous bird and shot,we have a pack of them travelling in our neighbourhood; probably a couple that were set free or escaped and thrived. But I never get the chance to get a good shot, they fly / rest very high up in the trees
@momamo Hé Monique, dat is fijn dat je dat zegt! Een vriendin uit Houston (Amerikanen) die nu in Nederland woont als expat zei dat ze ze daar ook hadden en ik had haar bijna voor gek verklaard!
On my shot of yesterday you commented that the grasshopper looked like he posed for me. This parakeet does not look like she posed for you - she actually did. Of course - she is a female, hehe. This is a fabulous capture of her and I agree she was very difficult to notice among the tree leaves.
