Driving into Muscat by ingrid01

Driving into Muscat

On Tuesdays we drive about 30 minutes to go to the house of Yelena's violin teacher. It is quite a drive, but well worth it.

Now the sun is setting earlier, we have been enjoying our ride back home because the sun is behind us and the light is beautiful.
I asked Yelena to take some photos when I was driving. I had to crop, but left the front of my car here on purpose.

This is the main road going into (or actually crossing) Muscat. It is know by #1 or Sultan Qaboos Street.
On the right you see the Grand Mosque. It was possible to visit the Grand Mosque as non-moslim and I did twice. It is impressive! There are 5 minarets. The tallest is 90m. The others are 45.5m and the dome is 50m high.
On the left, behind the flag is another impressive building: the Supreme court.
And in the distance is another of my favorite mosques. It is called Muhammad al-Amin and in the evening it is purple with yellow domes. In Januari I took some pictures of that mosque: https://365project.org/ingrid01/365/2020-01-26
