This morning I got up a little earlier and took Dino for a walk to the other side of a big road to take pictures of this mosque. Fortunately there was hardly any traffic so crossing was easy.
According to my phone, sunrise was at 6.14am, but I had to wait a little because the mountain blocked the sun. I like the little restaurant next to it too.
Now I'm up to date again. During lunch with a friend last Monday I mentioned how sad I was that I could not get Nadya here in December and that we are now thinking to travel to Texas.
My friend gave me a contact in the embassy and although they cannot give any guarantee they are giving going to get permission/a visa for her. I needed to send an email with a good reason which they can present to the Omani Government and scans of all our important documents. So that took some time, but we have a little hope now!
that's a rather attractive minaret for a small mosque.
if it was 1986, i could've helped you as i knew quite a few people then at the foreign affairs ministry. also our patron the then minister of petroleum was easy to speak to; i once asked for help and with a lift of a phone, a few words and my rather difficult compassion request (for the mother of my assistant) was granted. i hope your daughter is able to get her visa; it'll save you lots of grief in this rather difficult time.
