Mutrah corniche

Today I visited Mutrah with a few friends. Before the discovery of oil, Mutrah was the center of commerce in Muscat, so basically it is the older part of the city.
When I visited before Corona, it was always busy, sometimes if you were "unlucky" it was even hard to walk in between cruise-ship-tourist with guides waving flags.
Although it was lovely to be out there, it was also sad as it must be really hard for the little shop owners in the Souq and the restaurants around it to survive.
Beautiful composition of the city along the coast line.

Interesting to see the city in contrast to the mountains behind.

Beautiful comp and pov - praying that the small business owners can hang on until this virus is gone.

Lovely composition. It must be difficult for the locals now due to Covid. I don't suppose many tourists will be returning for quite some time.

now, those hills i remember, as i used to jog near the water, in 45 degrees heat, would you believe. i love going to the souq, especially the gold souq. 😊 great capture with the minaret and dome almost mimicking the peaks of the hills. aces!

A lovely scene. I am so worried about all of the businesses here. I hope they can hang on till after the vaccine has been distributed and Covid is Unser control.
