Today we wanted to go on a day trip to a village in the mountains famous for their apricot blossom. Word goes that it is like Japan's cherry blossom.
The village is at almost a 2 hour drive from where we live, so we set off early.
However, 3km before arriving the road was blocked by police. Everybody (and we were not the only ones) had to turn around because they had closed the village for visitors due to Corona.
To do something we decided to drive a little in the wadi close by. Norbert let Yelena (14 yo) drive. She had a blast.
We saw many goats their and so I had a good time too because they were happy to pose!
Next we stopped at a fort close by. It was no surprise that it was closed (most things are closed on Friday mornings), but it was nice to walk around.
Google told me there was a hot spring near by, so we checked that out too. This was an amazing place, but after about 5 minutes the police came and everybody had to go. So we drove home.
On the way to the village I drove. And I saw 2 mosques under construction along the main road. On the way back Norbert drove and I took a few pictures from the back seat. I zoomed in on a minaret, but liked this picture a lot better. The color of this mosque is still grey (concrete), so it works really well in B&W. And although it is not abstract, I really like all the lines and details.
Great capture. Sorry that things were closed. Are there a lot of restrictions over there at the moment.
Here they are in the midst of slowly lifting restrictions that went into place last November
Looks like it is going to be a wonderful piece of architecture when completed. Enjoyed readying your story and the way you seem to take all those setbacks.
looks like a really nice building. more gold probably on the minaret? i do like how the tower/minaret looks like with all the scaffolding around it. aces!
