When Yelena and I were in Texas, cyclone Shaheen made landfall in Oman. Due to the poor drainage system we got some water inside our house, but that was nothing compared to what the people witnessed about 60km north of Muscat.
On October 11th, ladies of the school's hike group went to help with some clean up. We were with about 10 ladies and helped in 3 houses by making a line and sorted the belongings in 2 piles: one to be saved and cleaned and the second was trash.
This was the kitchen of the last house before we started. The water must have come in quite fast...
It was sad to see, but it also felt good to be able to do something.
